Admission Procedure: PTU learning centre for complete knowledge. For distance education the admission is held twice a year-march &September. The University follows semester pattern and conduct exams twice-March & September. Counseling took place at the official centers only and the perspective candidate need to carry the entire testimonial’s attested copy with him/her. Admission procedure is completely dependent upon the availability of seats and just the submission of form in no regards confirms the admission. You need to have a roll number given by the university in order to be a part of this learning. DHTE Cautioned Public Against Fake Universities in India

Recently the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE) has cautioned public against fake universities. Every year thousands of students got victim of fake universities in India. Education bodies like DHTE time to time issues a public notice about such universities to cautioned public against fake universities.

After receiving lots of complaints from individuals and institutions about universities running distance education courses through study centers, DHTE issued this statement.

Director T.Karikalan adviced public to go through UGC & AICTE website to verify the recognition of courses and educational institutions.

It has been seen that most of these universities are indulge in offering technical courses. Any University, Deemed university or Distance Education Institution are required to obtain prior recognition from UGC & AICTE before offering any technical course. People can find list of approved universities and institutions offering technical education on UGC & AICTE website.

UGC Banned Engineering and Technology Courses Through Distance Education

Recently University Grants Commission (UGC) banned all institutions and universities offering engineering & technology courses such as B.Tech, BE etc. The ban is applicable on all diploma and post graduate courses in engineering and technology through distance learning mode. Although MBA & MCA courses are not effected with this and universities can continue offering these courses without any problem. The ban will remain active until any further notice from UGC.

In the notification published by UGC, it is clearly mentioned that an action will be taken against any institution or university violate the ban. Institutions and Universities are asked to stop offering any engineering or technology courses from the year 2009-10. In 2010 and 2011, AICTE also notified its policy not to recognise the qualification acquired through distance education mode at diploma, bachelors and masters level in the field of engineering and technology.

We were expecting this since UGC take over the DEC. The issue has been raised many a times and actions have been taken. As we know UGC is working on new guidelines for distance education and this step could be a part of that. May be in future UGC come with some fresh guideline for such courses and then it become possible for institutions and universities to run such courses.

In the notification UGC didn't mentioned any name of university or institution offering such courses and we also don't know if UGC has sent a formal notification by email to universities and institutions which offering such courses.

As of now UGC don't have a comprehensive list of such institutions. There are many private universities, deemed to be universities and state universities offering such courses but UGC did not have the authority to stop them as many of them are not under the grant list of the higher education regulator

4. M.SC in Maths, Statistics, Chemistry, and Zoology requires an annual fee of 8000 and M.SC Physics requires 9000 as annual fee. Examination fees for except Maths and Physics is 1300 and for these too is 1550. You need to have realted degrees and is of 2 years.
5. MBA in finance, marketing, human resource, systems and lateral requires an annual fee of 9000 with 1150 as examination fee. They are two years course.
6. PGDIP in Material Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Yoga Science, Journalism and Mass Communication and Marketing Management- they require 4000 as annual course fee and 1250 as examination fees. It is one year course. In IT and CA you need to pay 6500 as annual fee and 2000 as examination fee.
7. M SC in Computer Science, Computer Science Lateral, Information Technology and its lateral requires an annual fee of 10000 and examination fee without lateral is 1300 and with lateral 1850. Lateral courses requires Degree + PGDCA and the other one need degree only.
8. MCA and Lateral MCA is 2 years course and requires 12000 as annual fee and 1600 examination fee.
9. DIP- in Yoga Science and Industrial Safety requires 4000 as annual fee and 1250 as examination fee. It is one year course and needs 12th pass certificate.
